In plain words

How Premium works in a household

Plans belong to people, not households. Here is what that means when more than one of you lives in the same budget.

Paying for someone else’s seat

A Premium member can pay for another member’s Shared seat. The other person is asked first and can accept or decline.

Paying for someone gives you no access to their data. You do not see their income, personal commitments or personal goals. If the paying stops, the seat lapses with notice, and the other person can take it over themselves.

When only one of you has Premium

Only the Premium member uses household Premium features, such as custom splits. They propose and counter the terms.

The Free member is never locked out of the agreement. They can see what is proposed and approve or reject it, because every agreement needs both of you.

If Premium ends

Nothing is ever deleted. Premium behaviour stops, and you are told before any of it happens.

Custom splits return to equal from the first day of the next month, unless another member still has Premium. Goals beyond the one you keep are locked, not removed, and you choose which one stays active. History beyond the Free window is locked again, and reminder times return to the defaults. Your emergency funds are never locked.

If a payment fails, Premium carries on for 7 days before any of this applies.

Questions

Is the emergency fund really free?

Yes. Every plan includes an emergency fund for you and one for your household, free forever, and it is never locked. Free also gives each person one extra goal or savings box, personal or household, as you choose.

Do we both need Premium?

No. Each person has their own plan. Household Premium features, like custom splits, work as soon as one of you has Premium, and the others can approve what is proposed. To propose or counter custom terms yourself, you need Premium too.

What happens to my price when my household changes?

It follows automatically. When someone joins your household your price moves to the Shared seat, and when you live alone again it moves back to Single. You are told, and the difference is prorated.

Can one of us pay for the others?

Yes. A Premium member can pay for another member’s Shared seat. That person accepts first, and the person paying sees nothing private of theirs.

Which currency am I charged in?

Prices are shown in rand so they are easy to compare, but payment is charged in US dollars. Your bank may add a foreign-transaction fee. The dollar amount is shown on each plan.

What happens if I cancel?

Your data is never deleted. Premium behaviour stops when the period you paid for runs out, and the lapse rules above apply, with notice beforehand.

Does Homora move my money?

No. Homora records and calculates. You pay from your own bank, and subscriptions are handled by our payment provider.
