Cookies
Short version: this website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The Homora app uses only the cookies it needs to work, and nothing to track you.

What cookies are
A cookie is a small piece of text that a website asks your browser to keep. Some are needed for a site to work, for example to keep you signed in. Others are used to follow what you do across sites. Browsers can also keep similar data in local storage; we treat it the same way here.
This website (homora.co.za)
Our marketing site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not load scripts or fonts from other companies. Nothing here needs your consent, so there is no cookie banner.
Like any website, it is delivered by a hosting provider (Microsoft Azure), which processes standard technical data such as your IP address in order to send you the pages. There are no forms or sign-ups here either. To contact us you use an email link, and we receive what you write only when you send it from your own email app.
The Homora app (app.homora.co.za)
The app uses cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary: the app cannot work, or cannot keep you safe, without them. We do not use them to track you.
- Sign-in session. An encrypted cookie, unreadable by scripts, that keeps you signed in and tells us a request is yours. It ends when you sign out or the session expires.
- Account linking. A short-lived, encrypted cookie used only while you link a second sign-in method to your account.
- Preferences. Your theme, your language and region, and your time zone, so the app looks right and shows dates and amounts correctly.
- Small reminders kept in your browser, such as the note we show the first time you attach a file, or the scope you used last in Quick add.
Cookies from other companies
When you sign in you visit a sign-in page run by Microsoft Entra External ID, and if you choose Google or Apple you also visit their pages. When you buy Premium you visit a checkout page run by Polar. Those companies set the cookies they need for sign-in and payment on their own pages, under their own policies. We do not control them.
What “strictly necessary” means
We call a cookie strictly necessary when the app cannot do what you asked without it, or when it protects your account. Keeping you signed in is the clearest example. Remembering that you prefer a language or a theme is a smaller one, but it is the setting you chose and it is stored only on your own device.
Because we use only these, we do not show a cookie banner. A banner would offer you a choice that does not exist: there is nothing optional to switch off.
No tracking
We do not use advertising cookies, social media pixels, analytics cookies or fingerprinting, on this website or in the app. If we ever add analytics, we will update this page first and we will ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Links to the app and to other sites
This website links to the Homora app at app.homora.co.za. When you follow a link, you leave this site and the app’s cookies apply. The same goes for any other site we link to: its own cookie notice governs it.
Your information
A sign-in cookie can identify you to the app, so it is personal information. How we handle it is covered in our privacy policy, including your rights under POPIA. We never use cookie data to build a profile of what you do elsewhere.
Managing and clearing them
You can see, block and delete cookies and site data in your browser’s settings. If you delete them you will be signed out and the app will forget your preferences. If you block the necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in. Because we do not track you, there is nothing to switch off, and browser signals such as Do Not Track change nothing about what we do.
Changes to this page
We will change the date at the top when this page changes. If we ever add a cookie or a tool that is not strictly necessary, we will say so here first and ask for your consent before it is used.
